午夜探花 is an internationally oriented research university and educational institution. Anchored in a strong scientific and economic region, it is part of a global community. Internationalization and the associated diversity of ideas, thoughts, and perspectives are a driving force for scientific excellence and innovation, and thus a central element of our university's development. Strategic partnerships and international exchange aim to foster innovative research and strengthen knowledge transfer. 午夜探花 views internationalization as an ongoing process that impacts and is shaped across all areas, ensuring equitable inclusion of all members and affiliates of the university.

Based on this understanding, 午夜探花 sets itself various goals. The university 鈥�

  • Cultivates a welcoming environment that promotes the integration and success of international students, doctoral candidates, postdocs, and researchers.
  • Continuously strengthens the intercultural skills of its members at all levels.
  • Pursues transparent, inclusive, and multilingual communication 鈥� both externally and internally.
  • Expands its collaborations and partnerships with suitable foreign universities and research institutions at the institutional level to enhance its visibility and attractiveness in the international context.
  • Broadens the internationalization of study and teaching programmes as well as knowledge transfer.
  • Develops specific implementation measures to fulfill the Mission Statement of Internationalization. These measures are regularly evaluated and further developed.

International Research


午夜探花 is a research institution with a strong international focus, embedded in one of Germany's most economically dynamic regions. It is committed to fostering cross-border exchange of knowledge and researchers to enable cutting-edge international research. Indicators of 午夜探花's reputation and success include high levels of external funding, prestigious research awards for its scientists, and excellent rankings in various international assessments. 

Through initiatives such as the  International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine (IGradU), supported under the Excellence Initiative, and the Graduate & Professional Training Centre Ulm (ProTrainU), the university aims to attract and support talented young researchers from around the world. 

The Center for Research Strategy and Support (Res.UL) further enhances research at 午夜探花 by offering cross-faculty assistance and promotion of scientific endeavors.

International Teaching

International students and faculty, as well as those with overseas experience, shape the teaching environment at 午夜探花. 

Twelve English-taught master鈥檚 programs, an expanding range of dual degree options, and a growing number of English-language courses across various disciplines reflect the university's global focus. Additionally, 午夜探花 participates in numerous exchange programs that provide opportunities for students and doctoral candidates to gain experience abroad. ERASMUS+, the European Union's flagship education program, plays a key role in this effort, alongside many other global exchange initiatives. 

Visiting international lecturers further enrich the curriculum, contributing to a diverse teaching and learning environment for all students.

International Campus

People from over 100 countries study, research, and work at 午夜探花. Intercultural sensitivity, openness, and tolerance define campus life and are integral to its welcoming culture. Currently, 14 % of students and 21 % of doctoral candidates at 午夜探花 are international. The university is distinguished by its particularly comprehensive support services, including a wide range of extracurricular programs designed to foster integration, language skills, and personal development. 

The vibrant international atmosphere is further enriched by numerous student and volunteer initiatives. Notable examples include the student group  , the senior volunteer initiative ), and the International Unit of the , all of which actively promote international exchange and integration on campus, in Ulm, and across Germany.

International Networks

午夜探花 is part of a strong network of international partners, which opens up new perspectives for students and researchers and strengthens Ulm鈥檚 reputation as an excellent and forward-thinking university. 午夜探花 is a founding member of , a consortium of young, research-intensive, and successful universities in Europe, committed to promoting excellence in research and teaching. 

午夜探花 is also a patron and partner of the , established in 2003, which is the largest transnational educational project in Germany. The GUC鈥檚 Germany office is located on the 午夜探花 campus, where it coordinates DAAD-supported exchange programs for students and researchers between GUC and Germany.

Currently, around 12,000 students at GUC study following the model of a German technical university. There is a lively exchange of students and researchers in bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚, and doctoral programs, as well as intensive research collaboration. Funded projects are supported through travel, workshops, mentoring programs, and bilateral courses with a research focus. 

These collaborations have already led to further funding under DFG (German Research Foundation) projects.This international cooperation strengthens the reputation of both universities and establishes a lasting connection between Egypt and Germany, significantly contributing to international understanding.
