Physics and Management Bachelor of Science

In this three-year, interdisciplinary bachelor's programme, you will learn the fundamentals of experimental and theoretical Physics and Business and Economics. You can specialise in elective modules, an optional internship, work placement or study abroad according to your own objectives. You must earn at least 180 credit points (CP) and complete a bachelor's thesis (10 CP) at the end of the programme, which leads to independent scientific research under supervision.

To earn credit points for a course students need to register for the exam on .

If your examiner/examination is not visible in the campusonline portal, please send an e-mail immediately to studiensekretariat@uni-ulm.de with a request to register for the examination and contact your coordinator.

Exam registrations for written exams have to be made at the latest five days before the exam date (e.g. exam date 21 February, last possible registration: 16 February). Late registrations are not possible. Deregistration is possible until the day before the exam.

  • If you fail to appear at an examination date and have not revoked your registration, you will be deemed to have failed the examination.
  • If you fall ill on the day of the exam and cannot take part in the examination, you must obtain a medical certificate immediately stating the illness. The medical certificate, together with the appropriate form from Studiensekretariat, must be sent to the Studiensekretariat immediately. Please also inform the examiner right away.

FAQ Exams and Modules

  • You can repeat all failed exams twice (ASPO 2022).
  • Examinations that have been passed cannot be repeated.
  • In the bachelor's programme in Physics and Management, the following module examinations may be repeated three times if failed (FSPO 2024 搂 15 Repetition of module examinations (搂 25 ASPO)):
    • Mechanics,
    • Electricity and Magnetism
    • Theoretical Mechanics
    • Quantum Mechanics
    • Thermodynamics and Statistics

according to FSPO 2024 搂 12 Deadlines

  • Students who have not passed one of the module examinations "Mechanics" or "Electricity and Magnetism" and one of the module examinations "Higher Mathematics I" or "Higher Mathematics II" in the bachelor's programmes in Physics and Physics and Management no later than two months after the end of the third semester lose their right to examination, unless the student is not responsible for missing the deadline.
  • Students who have not completed module examinations in the bachelor's programmes in Physics and Physics and Management with the specified minimum of 50 credit points after the 3rd semester and 110 credit points after the 6th semester by no later than two months after the semesters lose their right to examination, unless the student is not responsible for missing the deadline.

Practical Course Physics

 

Bachelor's thesis

according to FSPO 2024 搂 13 Thesis (搂 18 ASPO):

  • The application for admission to a bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 thesis must be submitted to the subject examination board before starting the thesis. The subject examination board checks whether the topic meets the scientific requirements of the subject.
  • A minimum of 135 CP is required to be admitted to the bachelor鈥檚 thesis in Physics and Management.
  • The bachelor鈥檚 thesis corresponds to 10 CP. This includes a graded presentation (1 CP) including discussion. The presentation is given in front of the examiner of the bachelor's thesis. The bachelor's thesis is completed within three months alongside the study programme.
  • The topic of the bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 thesis in the programme in Physics and Management is set by an examiner in the Department of Physics, Economics or Mathematics at 午夜探花. If students鈥� admission to the master鈥檚 programme in Physics and Management was based on a bachelor's degree in physics, the topic of the master鈥檚 thesis is limited to Econophysics, Economics, Mathematics and Management or an interdisciplinary area of Physics and Economics.

The Physics/Economics Discipline Representation is made up of all students from the Physics/Economics, Biophysics and Advanced Materials departments. Some of the students are active in the Fachschaft (subject-related student representatives), i.e. they represent the students of the discipline in various committees. They collect old exams and exam protocols, organise various celebrations at the University, take care of the lecture evaluation and are quite simply a contact person for questions about studying.
