With the support of three deputies, the Gender Equality Officer advises university bodies and committees on all matters of gender equality and represents the genderpolitical dimension in all university affairs. She is involved in the University鈥檚 appointment procedures and chairs the Senate Commission for Gender Equality with regard to academic staff and students.

The Gender Equality Officer works together with the Office for Gender Equality (Equal Opportunities) on concepts and measures for equality and implements them together with the faculties.

The legal basis for the work of the Equal Opportunities Officer is stipulated in  and of the Federal State Higher Education Act Baden-W眉rttemberg (LHG).

Her core tasks are:

Advising the university management regarding the gender equality strategy and its implementation

Chairing the Equality Commission with the purpose to develop and implement the gender equality strategy in the faculties

Cooperation with the gender equality officers at other universities at state and federal level (, the conference of equal opportunities officers at universities and academic institutions in Baden-W眉rttemberg, and , the conference of equal opportunities officers at universities and academic institutions in Germany)

Presenting an annual report to the Senate on the development of equality
