The Danube connects each other: Successful Collaboration with Viennese Universities

Îçҹ̽»¨

As in previous years, there has been a fruitful collaboration between the Opens internal link in current windowInstitute of Databases and Information Systems (DBIS) and three Viennese Universities in 2015, which resulted in a number of excellent joint publications.

Traditionally, there has been a close collaboration between DBIS and 's chair of [LINK] from the University of Vienna. Currently, in the joint research project Opens internal link in current window°ä³±Ê°ù´Ç [LINK], researchers from both groups are developing an advanced framework for collaborative business processes, which ensures compliance along the entire process lifecycle, particularly in connection with cross-organizational processes and process changes -- °ä³±Ê°ù´Ç is co-funded by the German Research  Foundation  (DFG) and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). In 2015, the C3Pro project team has already published several papers, including an article in the Information Systems journal [2] and two high quality papers in the ER 2015 [2] und IEEE SCC 2015 [3] conference proceedings.

Manfred Reichert and Stefanie Rinderle-Ma

Besides this long-running cooperation with the University of Vienna, there has been another intense collaboration with  and  from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which has resulted in a joint paper [4] at the CAiSE 2015 conference in Stockholm. In this paper, which is also co-authored by colleagues from the University of Seville, a graphical notation for resource assignments in business processes has been introduced.

Finally, together with from the Technical University of Vienna as well as other European colleagues, Manfred Reichert has been co-organizer of the international workshop, which focuses on process and knowledge support in healthcare information systems. The proceedings of this year's workshop will appear soon in the Springer LNAI series (see [5, 6] for previous proceedings of this workshop series).

The DBIS team is looking forward to continuing these collaborations with its Viennese partners.
